Colferai Winery, which was born in the early ‘50s, was among the first companies in Italy (perhaps even in Europe) who believed and invested in the Wine in Box solution as the ideal packaging for wine transportation and storing.

Within a few years, the company achieved significant results for this kind of product, thanks both to the positive reception of the Italian customers and to the number of markets in which Colferai wine boxes are exported.

Wine in box® Colferai

The box format of Colferai’s Italian wine allows you to tap wine in the quantities needed for immediate consumption and to have at your disposal your favorite wine as fresh from the barrel.

Furthermore, this type of packaging eases the transportation and the preservation of the product even after its opening. This allows the customer to buy different types of wine without worrying about leftover wine not being able to be stored for later use.

The total absence of glass is another important aspect of this packaging, as it allows for lower costs and facilitates the transport operations and the final disposal, not to mention the absence of the cap, which is another crucial aspect to take into account.

Despite the benefits and convenience of the Wine in Box® product, we must recognize that the strength of this new packaging are the quality and genuineness of the wine that Colferai has been manufacturing and marketing for many years.

The company has designed and produced a disposable packaging: the bag in box, in sizes of 3, 5, 10 and 20 liters, in order for our customers to take advantage of the wine in box with the characteristics that distinguish the cask wine as fresh from the barrel or a bottle that has just been uncorked.

Professional 20 liter box

For a complete service also exists the possibility of using the 20 liter Wine in box®, for tapping plant.

The only accessory to be added is a pneumatic pump, necessary for the wine aspiration. The boxes are available with either the classic tap Vitop or professional attack. The use of 20 liter boxes reduces not only the costs of transport, but it allows to optimize to the maximum the spaces for the storage of the goods.

Kegs PET


fusti-PETColferai has always been a pioneer in proposed solutions for the transport and the wine tapping. In addition to the Wine packaging Wine in Box® we propose Kegs PET one way. The need is to reduce the weight of the transport in order to decrese the final cost for those who require the supply.

Unlike steel, the Kegs PET one way affects for 0.5% on the weight it is easy to see the savings behind a choice like this. It is also easily recyclable, further decreasing the cost of transportation.

There are various formats, 16-20-24-30 liters, we have evaluated through experience that 24 liters is the most functional and easy to handle, in any case all sizes are available to order. The Kegs PET one way allow good preservation of wine and do not require a new tapping plant; also they feature a bayonet mount or to slide, according to the needs.

Wine in Box®, a new way to drink olt times wines!

Colferai Wine in Box® may be used to supply a bar tap column system. Colferai Wine in Box® is provided with a special tap, making it extremely practical and air tight, keeping the organoleptic properties of the wine unaltered.

To tap the wine, connect Wine in Box® to a special penumatic pump which is normally powered by gas (CO2 or nitrogen) or compressed air. The wine is pumped through a refrigerating group to bring it and keep it at the desired temperature; or it may directly come through the column at room temperature. Furhermore, this system is suitable for the connection of a series of containers guaranteeing adequate stock based on consumption rates.

Primitivo is a full bodied-wine, high in alcohol content but with softness who helps the balance of the amount of tannins wich it allows a result of an harmonious expression

Raboso IGT

RABOSO IGT VENETO 11. 5% VOL

Raboso it is an autochthonous vine from Veneto, peculiar from Piave river area. The color is red ruby. Particularly marked is the scent, winy intense characteristic with violet notes. The taste is dry, sapid, fairly tannic, typically sourish. Suitable with all slow food kitchen, particularly with main dishes based on red meat

Rosso IGT

ROSSO TERRE DI CHIETI IGT 12.5% VOL

The taste is dry, balanced, full-bodied, sapid. The color is ruby red, it gains different shades aging, the perfume is characteristic, winy, intense, keen. It is defined a noble wine, with high finesse, suggested to match with main dishes based on red meat, roasted lamb, feather, aged cured meat and aged cheese.

ROSSO TERRE SICILIANE IGT 12. 5% VOL

Red ruby with light shades tending to the garnet. The perfume is intense, complex, with fruity notes of cherry, pleasant. The taste is dry, full, winy balanced sapid and persistent. This red wine is excellent with grilled meat, roasts feather and medium-aged cheese.

Sangiovese IGT

SANGIOVESE RUBICONE IGT 11. 5% VOL

Ruby red color, sometime with purple shades. The perfume is winy, enriched by notes of violet and red berries. The taste is dry and harmonious, slightly tannic with pleasant bitterish aftertaste.

Sauvignon IGT

Straw-yellow to golden color, well pronounced bouquet, exceptional personality. Dry taste, harmonic, aromatic. Suitable for aging. It matches perfectly with starters and main fish dishes.
